PURPOSE ^

brede_str_wordstem - Stem the words of a string

SYNOPSIS ^

function t = brede_str_wordstem(s, varargin)

DESCRIPTION ^

 brede_str_wordstem - Stem the words of a string

       function t = brede_str_wordstem(s, varargin)

       Input:    s     Input string

       Property: Type  [ {3char2} | 3char2journal| S ] Type of word
                       stemming.

       Output:    t    Output string

       This function does word stemming of the words in a string.

       '3char2' reduces every word to 3 characters if the word
       consists of more than one word. '3char2journal' are supposed
       to be good as word stemming for journals doing the same as
       '3char2' except that the 'neuro'- or 'phy'- prefixes are not
       counted as characters.

       'S' removes the last 's' on words in a string, - except if
       the word is is only one character long.

       Example:
         s = 'Human Brain Mapping'
         brede_str_wordstem(s, 'type', '3char2journal')

         S = { 'activation' 'S and its activations' }
         brede_str_wordstem(S, 'type', 's')
